The VIRTUE Project – Volunteer Initiative for Recruitment, Retention, and Lifesaving, funded through the Erasmus+ program – KA210-ADU-DD109956, brings together organizations from Romania, Hungary, and Turkey to support the development of skills among volunteers involved in emergency response and rescue operations.
The main goal of the VIRTUE project is to strengthen the capacity of a group of 30 volunteers from Romania, Hungary, and Turkey to actively participate in volunteer initiatives for emergency management (EM). The project aims to develop an innovative training program that combines technical training (first aid, search and rescue, water rescue) with the development of inclusive communication skills and effective collaboration.
Through modern training programs, hands-on activities, workshops, and international training sessions, the project helps recruit and retain active volunteers, fosters international cooperation, and prepares participants for rapid and effective responses to crisis situations. VIRTUE promotes the exchange of best practices, inclusion, and cross-border collaboration, with the goal of strengthening communities’ ability to respond effectively when every second counts.
Expected results:
- 1 training program structured into 3 modules, translated into Romanian, Hungarian, and Turkish.
- 3 joint international training sessions, fostering transnational collaboration among volunteers.
- At least 85% of participants become active members of an SVSU.
- At least 70% of participants demonstrate the ability to assist refugees in practical simulations.
- At least 15 cooperation agreements signed with relevant institutions and organizations
